Per Shannon-Shattuck Post 182 By-Laws, the Post Executive Committee (PEC) is composed of the elected officers and two general members at-large. The Commander and PEC appoint committees and committee chairs. The committee chairs attend the PEC when they have business that is discussed at a PEC meeting.
The goal is to shift routine administrative decision-making—excluding major financial commitments—out of general meetings and onto the Post Executive Committee (PEC). The PEC serves as a strategic body tasked with scheduling, evaluating options, costs, and the operational impact of Post activities, and most importantly, provide a fiscal strategy that keeps the Post operational and on-mission. Currently, the PEC may authorize expenditures up to $300, except for those related to regularly scheduled events, building maintenance and operations, or standard administrative expenses.
